"Cans for Tickets" campaign at The Taste of Montclair Harvest Festival.

The Taste of Montclair Harvest Festival launching on September 23rd and 24th 2011 at 33 Cottage Place (the parking lot of Immaculate Conception High School), who's title sponsor is Whole Foods Market a, is holding a canned food drive at the live event. The event has live entertainment, and the best of Montclair's restaurant and business community. The event is free and open to the public. To purchase food or beverages tickets are sold at the ticket booths for $8 dollars her sheet of 12 tickets. And non-food vendors will be selling their wares for cash. Friday hours are 3pm until 9pm and Saturday Hours are 10am until 10pm.

There is an amazing array of musical talent that will be performing at this year's Taste of Montclair Harvest Festival. Headlining Friday night will be Lil' Bastad, who's funk and soulful blues is well known throughout New Jersey and abroad. Miss Pop and the Bad Touch will be opening for Lil Bastad with their own brand of high energy covers. Grey's Light featuring Kennedy Grey and Luke Michura will be opening the day with a strong and passionate acoustic set. The Headliner for Saturday night is a 11 piece rock and jazz band called 3rd Valve fronted by Tracy Herrick rocking songs inspired by Chicago, The Stones, Sheryl Crow, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, Tina Turner, The Eagles, The Beatles, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Springsteen... and more. 3rd Valve will be preceeded by Ridgewood NJ-based Tumblebuzz fronted by Larry Pendagast. Starting off the afternoon will be The house band of Montclair's School of Rock followed by Enrico Grafanei of Trumpets Jazz Club. Opening Saturday's line up will be the Musical Team of Parents Who Rock featuring an amazing array of bands that play for the good and love of the game. Our Saturday morning line-up starts with My Mynd Mocean followed by Carrie Cantor, Meg Beattie Patrick bring her passion to the stage and Bob Cannon follows. The lunch time is full with sound of the Eugene Chrysler Band who's music takes its influence from blues, country, western swing, boogie, and rockabilly followed by Ellen Paretti and Tim O'Connor and the final Parents who rock act will be Client #9 who features Aviva Patz (vocals), David Janowski (guitar), Greg Carson (bass) and Rick Osterberg (drums). The Mid Day musical Break will feature a martial arts demonstration by the Kincade School of Martial located in the 4th ward. Through mental focus and discipline the Kincade Martial arts school has been educating and enriching the lives of hundreds of Montclair children and adults alike.

Currently, we have a vast array of culinary delights from restaurants within the township and surrounding communities. We will be featuring Aroma Palace serving up indian food, Cupcakes Galore and More - Cupcakes, Lalezar - Mediterranean, Mesob - Ethiopian, Southern Belle - Comfort Food, Tortilla Sunrise - Mexican inspired delights, Trumpets - American, Whole Foods Market - Healthy Selections.

Also Face Painting and Ballon Animals will be created on Saturday morning by Time2party Inc. Free promotional items will be handed out by our non-food vendors PNC bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Huntington Learning Center, The Work Family Connection, and Above and Beyond Inc. Get your child a toy from Just Kidding around and if you're looking for the latest trend in handbags Nahui Ollin candy wrapper hand bags will also be on sale. The list of vendors continues to grow at the same rate as the restaurant list. So please keep checking the website all the way until the day of the event.

The canned food drive is to benefit our charity partner, The Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair. The way it works is if you bring a can of food you'll get a free ticket for food and beverages to try the tasting menu's at the event. Average ticket redemption is around 3-6 tickets. We accept non-perishable foods that are not expired. Please refrain from bringing can's of soda or unhealthy selections. Additional ticket sheets can be purchased for $8 dollars for a sheet of 12 tickets.

The Human Needs Food Pantry has served the elderly, unemployed, underemployed, single parents, the homeless and homebound as well as others with food insecurities since 1982. It is completely supported from individuals in the community and serves Montclair and surrounding communities in Essex County with no existing food pantries.
